It has always been important to know people, always a positive as you make your way through your career to have the right connections, especially when looking for a new job. There are many ways to get connected, social networks make it much easier these days, but its about being well connected – not just connected. Getting connected can be a huge factor in career progression, as is the ability to help yourself by gathering as much knowledge as possible and putting yourself on a path of self improvement that will open the doors to that next move, a better opportunity within your current employer, or improving your prospects of succeeding with your own business.

“Why would I want to work for your company?” and “What is in it for me?” are two questions, we as recruiters very rarely hear from candidates and yet both of them are top of the list of questions that candidates need to ask, should ask and probably subconsciously consider when job hunting.
